Spice up your at-home workouts with affordable equipment.
Want to make an at-home gym but think you don’t have the room or it will cost a fortune? Think again. If you have a yoga mat worth of space then you have enough room to work out at home. We’re always a fan of bodyweight workouts but also know that sometimes people want to shake things up with equipment that’s easy to use, takes up minimal space and is affordable. Here are our six favorite, best bang for your buck, at-home pieces of equipment that give you all you need to work out at home.
Disclosure: Some of the links in this post are commissionable links and if you go through them to make a purchase we will earn a commission. Keep in mind that we link products because of their quality and not because of the commission we receive. All items are ones we have personally used or currently use.
TRX: We love the TRX, you can get a great full body workout with just the TRX. From strength training to cardio this piece does it all, plus it can attach to your door at home, a hotel room door and it also comes with an attachment to be used outside. It’s compact and easy to store away at home or bring with you when you travel.
Mini Bands: Perfect small and inexpensive piece of equipment that gives you a killer leg and glute workout. These bands are amazing and very versatile. As you get stronger you can vary the placement of the band to make it harder so you don’t have to buy a new band. We also love these bands for getting a great upper body workout. Very easy to pack into your suitcase.
Superbands: If you’re used to lifting a little heavier and want to maintain that from home superbands are an amazing option. They come in a variety of widths and you can easily use them for heavier squats, rows, deadlifts, weighted push-ups, etc. The great thing with these bands is that you can change the resistance of the band in a variety of ways so that as you get stronger you can continue with the same band.
Sliders: These are another super portable and inexpensive piece of equipment that will challenge your body in a way that is completely different than your normal workout. Because they slide they’ll work all of your smaller stabilizer muscles to stabilize you as the larger muscles help with the movement. This is one of our favorite pieces of equipment. They can be used on carpet or hardwood. And if you have only hardwood floors you can use small towels instead!
Resistance Bands with Handles and door anchor: Another great band option. These can be used attached to a door or by themselves. They recreate cable machines at the gym and they’re great for incorporating rotational movements that challenge your core in a variety of ways. Most come as a set so you can change the intensity of the movement by adding or dropping a band!
Pull-Up Bar: We love a pull-up bar because hanging is one of the best things to incorporate for shoulder health and pull ups or hanging abdominal exercises are great exercises that you will never outgrow! You can even give yourself the challenge by hanging one up in a doorway and every time you walk under it you have to do something on it. It is a great way to get a workout in during the day without actually setting aside time for a workout.
